Personally Identifiable Information
Personally identifiable information (“PII”) is information that identifies an individual or is directly associated with a specific person or entity such as a name, address, telephone number, email address, or information about activities which can be directly linked to that person or entity. In all circumstances, other than a choice to opt-out, reference in this policy statement to "you" or "your" also includes you and all others identified by UPG as part of your membership with UPG. Reference in this statement to "information you provide" includes information provided by you, or others on behalf of you as a Member of UPG. Our definition of PII does not include "aggregate" information. Aggregate information is data we collect about a group or category of products, services or website visitors, from which individually identifiable information has been removed. In other words, information about how you use a Member program or service may be collected and combined with information about how other Members use the same service, but no personal information will be included in the resulting data. Aggregate data helps UPG and its vendor partners understand trends and members' needs so that we can better consider new products, services, programs and tailor existing products and services to Members' desires.
Information We Collect
How We Use and Share the Information We Collect
The PII we collect is generally used to process your membership registration, requests for additional information about vendor partner programs, provide you with high-quality service, tell you about opportunities we think will be of interest, and understand your needs so that we can serve you better. We may also use personal information we collect to provide you with promotional information, which is information we believe will add value to your membership, such as notification of upcoming, new, or improved discounts or programs available to UPG Members through UPG’s vendor partners.
Occasionally, UPG may share PII with its selected vendor partners so that they can independently market their own products and services directly to you ("Promotional Information"). If you prefer not to receive Promotional Information directly from UPG vendor partners, we make it easy for you to let us know. You may contact us at any time to decline Promotional Information. Please note that it may take some time, consistent with applicable law, for us to process your request.
How We Use Your E-Mail Address
We may use your e-mail address to send the following types of e-mail messages to you:
Updates and Valuable Offers. We may send you occasional e-mail updates notifying you of new, modified, or existing membership benefits, partnership agreements with select vendor partners and the details of the benefits, products and services offered as well as other valuable offers from our vendor partners.
Regularly Scheduled E-mail Newsletters. We will send you regularly scheduled E-Mail Newsletters to share and explain new and existing UPG Member Programs and benefits.
Account Service Information. We may send you e-mail notifications related to your account(s) or membership with UPG. These include e-mails that provide account information, answer your questions, facilitate or confirm receipt of a Member benefit, or fulfill a legal or regulatory disclosure requirement.
Securing Your Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your PII from unauthorized access and use. If you use e-mail to send us any PII, exercise caution as the e-mail communication would be unencrypted and could be read by anyone who receives or intercepts it.
Updating Your Information
If you wish to correct or update the PII related to your Membership account(s), please contact us via email or our Website.
